來到台中潭子就想到榮登國宴的美食，餐廳負責人羅美蘭女士為苗栗大湖客家人，從小勤儉持家，不論是米食或客家美食，都非常有興趣，於是細心研究出珍珠竹筍包，結合當地農特產品，做出吹彈可破的國宴珍珠包，並榮獲神農獎，於是珍珠包成為國宴料理中不可或缺的佳餚，在臺中地區各大餐廳外燴餐點都可以品嘗到它的美味，也成為潭子在地的驕傲。
